Social influence and wellbeing in groups and organizations

We examine the ways in which our social context shapes who we are and what we do

Who we are

We are located within the Department of Psychology at Western University. Our team is comprised of Dr. Evans alongside graduate and undergraduate students - and we each study a range of topics spanning organizational psychology as well as sport and exercise psychology.

What we do

We explore why and how real-life settings like workplace teams, exercise classes, and student clubs influence members’ health behaviors and wellbeing.

The two key reasons we focus on small groups:

  1. Groups are a vital context for social participation that is crucial for wellbeing

  2. Groups have features that can strengthen members’ connection to one another, and amplify the influence of groups.

We are always happy to hear from organizations interested in partnering, colleagues interested in connecting, or undergraduate/graduate students interested in opportunities (mevan3@uwo.ca)
